Quest Program
Quest is a short-term program that provides individual children with academic support. Students with mild learning differences are given tutorials lasting 45-50 minutes, which prepare them to succeed in a rigorous academic setting. Students taking Quest learn in a traditional class setting and take a full academic program. Goals are tailored to meet each student's individual needs.
When students are helped to overcome their self-doubts...their innate talent is able to flourish.
Quest mentors observe students in classes and consult with their teachers on an ongoing basis. There is frequent communication with parents. A separate fee is charged for the Quest program. The success of the Quest program can be measured by the fact that Quest students have achieved honor grades. When students are helped to overcome their self-doubts and given specific techniques to use in mastering subject matter, their innate talent is able to flourish. Many receive the full IB Diploma.
Here is an example: A particular student entered Dwight's Ninth Grade with a learning difference. He rose to meet the demands of our academically rigorous IB program. By graduation, he had become editor of the school newspaper, won several track honors, and scored 800 on his math and 600 on his verbal SAT. In addition, he was accepted early-decision by Columbia University. When you believe in students and have a positive attitude about their learning, outstanding results become the norm of the School.
