Employment Opportunities
The Dwight School seeks faculty members with enthusiasm and an interest in international education. They must be dedicated to awakening the ‘spark of genius’ within each student. Qualifications vary with different positions and within the four divisions of the school. Teachers are encouraged to bring talents outside their classroom subject for the special flair and excitement it adds to the whole community.
Professional development programs for teachers and staff are foundations for the professional life. A wide range of classes, extracurricular activities, and personal development programs that Dwight offers its students also allows teachers to extend and develop their own skills and experiences. New Dwight teachers enjoy an orientation process that includes attendance at International Baccalaureate training programs both nationally and internationally. A mentoring system pairs an experienced teacher with a new one to the school.
Weekly meetings become an important resource for new Dwight teachers to engage with academic departments and grade-level teams. These meetings allow every teacher to participate in curriculum planning. New teachers often contribute valuable innovation.
Equal Opportunity Statement
Dwight is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin. The Dwight School’s faculty and student body exemplify diversity.
