Meet Our Senior Leaders

The longest serving school head in New York City, Stephen Spahn works with the Senior Academic Leaders, Finance Director, and Director of Development and Alumni Relationships to maintain, expand, and enhance the opportunities Dwight offers its students. He is the leader of the Dwight Family of Schools (DFS) and plays an active role in empowering Dwight students to become global leaders.

As Head of School, Dianne Drew oversees the planning and execution of all the programs offered at Dwight. She also is responsible for our faculty professional development initiatives and oversees the Director of School Operations and Events as well as the MYP Coordinator and MYP Curriculum. To ensure strong connections across the various areas of our community, she sits on the boards of the Parents Association (nursery-grade 12) and The Dwight Schools.

Paul Sanders has been part of the Dwight community since 2005. In his role as Head of the Middle and Upper School, Mr. Sanders works with the Arts, Athletic, College Counseling, English, Physical Education, Social Studies, and Technology departments. Mr. Sanders is actively involved in middle and upper school student life, chairing the Deans’ Council and supporting the School’s counseling and health staff. In the classroom, Mr. Sanders teaches our Theory of Knowledge to all twelfth grade students enrolled in the full IB Diploma Program.

As Head of the Lower School, Martha oversees the PYP curriculum as well as pastoral care for all lower division students. In addition, Mrs. Hirschman oversees Lower Division Health and School Counseling as well as scheduling for the Lower School Academic Counseling. She also serves as Chair of the Admisssion Department for nursery-grade twelve, working closely with the School's Admissions Team and prospective families throughout the admissions season.  

Chris Allen oversees the daily operations of Dwight's Early Childhood Division, which includes the nursery, preschool, and kindergarten classes. She works closely with an Associate Director to coordinate PYP curriculum for students ages 3-5.

A member of the Dwight community since 1981, Anthony Foster is Associate Head of the Middle and Upper School. He oversees the heads of the Math, Science, Quest, and Foreign Language departments, and he works with the Office of Registar and Assessment to coordinate all assessments and student academic records. Mr. Foster is the DP Coordinator and Head of Curriculum for grades 11 and 12. Additionally, he oversees academic counseling for students in grades 6-12.
