Theater

The Dwight School Theatre program springs from two foci—the IB Theatre Arts curriculum and the various productions Dwight performs on prestigious New York City stages. Students undergo a rigorous and rewarding program based on the professional model, which also contributes significantly to the Dwight community. Productions each season include both classics and world theater; they also offer students opportunities to develop their “sparks of genius.”

Highlights:

• Upper School productions performed on Off Broadway stages
• Original Middle School productions performed for rest of school
• Original productions at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August
• Annual performance at Carnegie Hall
• Student-run improv company
• Annual all-school assembly dedicated to V&P Arts Awards
• Two-week Summer Acting Intensive in June
• Collaboration with New York Professional Theatre companies
