2's and 3's Program
- Encourage observational skills and talk about changes in materials through play, cooking, and sand and water activities.
- Identification and naming of simple phenomena. E.g. hot/cold, dark/light, weather, shadows, etc.
3's and 4's Program
- Develop observational skills and questioning.
- Examine changes in our environment through the seasons.
- Understand that living things need care to survive and grow.
- Explore changes in materials through cooking, sand, and water play.
4's and 5's Program
- Promote observational skills through the use of simple scientific equipment such as magnifying glasses, viewers, etc.
- Record observations through drawings and communicate ideas using developing scientific language.
- Begin looking at cause and effect.
- Investigate aspects of light and shadows.
- Understand the requirements of living things.
- Investigate and record the change of the environment through the seasons.
