International Music Festival

Year after year, our student-performers from every campus in the network have convened to showcase their musical talents, cultures, and traditions.

Our network of Schools values tradition and one of our favorites is the annual International Music Festival, which started at Carnegie Hall, one of the most famous concert venues in the world.

Today, we alternate hosting these majestic concerts in the home cities of our Schools around the world, affording students ongoing opportunities to visit other campuses and countries — and to come together in an immersive experience over the course of an incredible week of collaboration, rehearsals, and bonding. The concerts, which are the culminating event of the music festival, feature a wide range of performers, from soloists to ensembles and an all-School orchestra; as well as different musical genres, ranging from classical, pop, rock, and jazz to traditional music played on Chinese and Korean instruments. Each year, our global concert has a different theme, which unifies our community and shapes the musical program.

CELEBRATING 26 YEARS OF GLOBAL CONCERTS

The Dwight Music Department was thrilled to present this year's Global Concert! Continuing our beloved annual tradition of worldwide musical collaboration, we celebrated the sense of wonder and opportunity that our storied global concerts have always signified — while embracing the ever-evolving concert experience that each new year brings. This year's concert was hosted by Shanghai Qibao Dwight High School with the theme of Symbiosis.

With students from Dubai, Franklin School, Global Online, Hanoi, London, New York, Seoul, and Shanghai participating together for the second consecutive year, this year's concert was a truly unique and harmonious blend of musical talents from around the world!

In addition to the cross-campus music collaboration on stage at the 上海保利城市剧院 Shanghai Poly City Theater, students explored the city, participated in master classes and social events throughout the rehearsal week, and above all else, formed lasting bonds of friendship with their fellow musicians through the universal language of music.

It was a wonderful celebration — the latest chapter in a tradition of making beautiful music together since 2000!
