Dwight Students Roar in Mathematics Competitions
Dwight Lions are champs on the basketball court and in an arena where the best moves are not jump shots or sinking baskets … they’re solving challenging math problems! Yes, we’re talking about the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) in which Dwight Math Club students go head to head ― literally! ― against students at schools across the U.S. in online match-ups through the AMC’s Interstellar League.
Dwight students also compete in contests run by The Math League, pitting them against local New York City students as individual players and against schools as teams.
Our Middle School and Upper School mathletes are real contenders!
Last year, Dwight students ranked fourth in New York City and among the top 30 for New York State in the New York Math League. They also advanced to the quarterfinals of the AMC national Interstellar math competition.
We look forward to more great scores this year. GO LIONS!
