Grade 11

Students in the eleventh grade focus their academic work on one of three programs: the IB Diploma, Career-related, or Courses Program. Regardless of their path, students take classes designed to prepare them for university-level work. They continue to enhance their research skills while deepening their time-management skills.

Eleventh graders, with the support of our College Guidance team, begin preparing their materials for college applications. Students work closely with their counselor to refine a list of colleges and universities best suited to their individual interests and aspirations. We also encourage our grade 11 students to work with our Internship Coordinator to find shadowing and internship opportunities in fields they may wish to pursue.

Peek Inside the Classroom

You might find our Grade 11 students:

  • Heading to Coney Island for the annual IB Group 4 Project, merging students from across science disciplines to work on collaborative experiments
  • Designing and conducting their own mathematical investigations throughout the year on a topic of their own choosing
  • Writing an extensive essay analyzing a literary work in translation, complete with a reflection of their own analysis
