Sign up here to choose a date to take the math and world language assessments. The assessments will take place on campus, or can be administered virtually. 

• The on-campus assessments begin at 3 pm on May 22 and  May 30.
• Your child does NOT need to take a world language placement test if they are starting a new world language or are using a language waiver.
• As the date approaches, detailed information about these assessments will be emailed to you.
• No preparation is necessary. These assessments are simply a way to ensure that your child is placed in the most appropriate class to reach their full potential.

To learn more about the arts elective offerings for grades 9 and 10, take a moment to review this Arts Electives Brochure. Then, complete this form to select your world language course(s) and arts elective.

Welcome to the best part of tenth grade at Dwight!  The Personal Project is the culmination of the IB Middle Years Program, and it is an opportunity for students to take charge of their learning. 

All tenth grade students set two related goals for themselves:

1. Something they want to learn, and
2. Something they want to do or make to demonstrate that learning. 

Once those goals are set, students spend 25 hours working towards those two goals between now and December 2024.  This summer, students write their learning and product goals, and spend five hours working toward them (a summer assignment will be forthcoming).  The project ends with students documenting their work in a paper for the IB and celebrating their efforts at the Personal Project Exhibition, a community event that involves Upper School, Lower School, teachers, administrators, and parents.  We look forward to seeing what our students will do!
