Welcome to Dwight's Upper School!
Welcome to Dwight!
We are thrilled that you and your family are joining our community, and we can’t wait to support your child throughout their journey with us.
As the Head of Upper School, I want you to know that I’m here as a partner and resource for your family. You’ll also be hearing soon from our dedicated grade-level Deans, who will share more details over the summer about orientation and what to expect during the first days of school. Together, we are deeply committed to nurturing your child’s growth — academically, socially, and emotionally — and to helping ignite their unique spark of genius.
It’s an honor that you’ve entrusted us with your child’s education. Even after 20 years at Dwight, I continue to be inspired by the transformation our students undergo — discovering new passions, thinking critically, collaborating meaningfully, and stepping into their roles as compassionate, global citizens.
We can’t wait to get to know your child, cheer them on, and celebrate their many successes in the year ahead. Welcome to Dwight — we’re so glad you’re here!
Best,
Eric Dale, Head of Upper School

HEALTH DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS
We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with you and your child throughout their time at Dwight. It's essential to familiarize you with the required health documentation mandated by The New York State Department of Health and Board of Education for school entrance and attendance compliance.
Summer Assignments
Summer assignments for the 2025-26 school year are now posted online.
2025-26 Transportation Registration
Registration for school bus services for the 2025-26 school year is now open.
Our private bus service is provided by Queens Children Transportation, which has delivered exceptional service to Dwight for many years. Registration will be processed directly through the Queens Children Transportation; however, we are happy to assist with any questions.
All bus drivers for Queens Children Transportation are state-licensed, professional, experienced, and properly certified. Additionally, all Queens Children Transportation buses undergo Department of Transportation inspections and are equipped with seat belts that meet federal safety standards.
As an alternative to this paid service, eligible students may apply for the Department of Education (DOE) bus, which operates on limited routes (see instructions below).
The deadline to register for all listed bus services is Monday, June 9. Please read on for details and registration information for each option.
If you have any questions, please contact Alicia Thoresen, Transportation Coordinator.
Music Conservatory 2025-26: Registration Is Now Open
As we approach the summer, we’re already excited for another successful year of the Dwight Conservatory Program!
We’d like to invite your child to participate in the Dwight Music Conservatory in 2025-26. An integral part of our Music Department, our fee-based Conservatory Program offers students private, one-on-one lessons in a wide range of instruments and a breadth of musical styles. Students study throughout the year, and have opportunities to perform in recitals that occur in both December and May. Our Conservatory will be available after school, Mondays through Fridays, at both the Central Park West Campus (grades 5-12) and 94th Street Campus (kindergarten-grade 4).
After-School Activities
We’re looking forward to a stellar new season of after-school clubs. Students will be invited to attend an activities fair at the beginning of the school year to learn more about our Fall offerings.
