Application Process

Submit Online Application

Please create an account and apply online through Ravenna, our admissions database. For all Lower School applicants, the deadline for consideration in the first round of review is November 15, 2016.

Attend an Open House

We invite you to sign up for one of our Lower School morning open houses. This event, held on our Main Campus at 291 Central Park West, will allow families to learn more about our academic programs, see our facilities, and meet current students and faculty. Please visit our Important Dates page for more information.

Schedule Interview and Child Visit

Grade 1-5:

Once you have submitted an application, the admissions office will reach out to you to schedule your family visit which will include a class visit for your child and a parent interview with the Admissions Director. If possible we try to combine both on a morning or afternoon that is convenient for you.

Submit Official School Reports and Confidential Teacher Recommendation

All grade 1 applicants must submit the Independent School Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY) confidential school report. This report is to be given to your child’s current school and must be submitted directly from their school to ours. If your child presently attends an ISAAGNY school, they can supply you with the form. It can also be downloaded from this page.

All grade 2-5 applicants must have their current school submit official reports from the past two years. This report is to be given to your child’s current school and must be submitted directly from their school to ours. Your child’s teacher should complete the confidential recommendation form after December 1 to ensure an accurate assessment. If the transcript and Teacher Recommendation Form are not completed in English, an official translation must also be sent. The transcript release form and teacher recommendation can be downloaded from this page.
