Upper School

Thank you for your interest in Dwight School. If you are interested in submitting an application for the 2020-21 academic year, we encourage you to call our office to learn more about the process. Second round applications are accepted based on availability. Please contact the Admissions Office at 212-724-6360 ext. 201 or email us at admissions@dwight.edu if you are interested in submitting a second round application at this time.

The application for the academic year 2021-22 will be available on September 1, 2020.

Submit Online Application

Please create an account and apply online through Ravenna, our admissions database. To submit a 2020-21 application for grades 9-12, please contact us first to confirm the availability in the grade your child is entering.  If there is space, the Admissions office will then provide you with a bypass code, which is needed to submit an application.

Attend a Virtual Open House

Due to COVID-19 health precautions, all of our events will be held virtually this year. We will be hosting a number of events this season so that you can better understand our community, faculty and curriculum. These will include Upper School virtual Open Houses where you will have the opportunity to meet our leadership and hear from our current students. To sign up for an Upper School Open House, please visit our Virtual Admissions Events page.

Schedule Student Virtual Interview

Once you have submitted an application, you will be able to schedule a student virtual interview via Ravenna.

Submit Official Transcript and Confidential Teacher Recommendations

The transcript release form and teacher recommendation forms should be submitted to the candidate’s present school. The teacher recommendation forms must come from both the student's math and English/Native tongue teachers and should be completed after December 1 to ensure an accurate assessment of the student’s performance. If the transcript and teacher recommendation forms are not completed in English, an official translation must also be sent. The forms can be downloaded from this page.

Testing

Dwight’s Test optional policy for the 2020-21 Admissions Season

Due to the extra challenges presented by COVID-19, we are making ISEE/SSAT testing optional this fall. We will consider all applicants equally, whether or not they submit standardized test results.

For those applicants who decide to take either the ISEE or the SSAT test, please visit the ERB website or the SSAT website to schedule a test date.

If you want to submit your scores, please ensure that Dwight School is listed as a recipient. Our school code for the ISEE is 333605. For the SSAT, our code is 2930.

Optional: Submit ISAAGNY Common Applicant Essay

Applicants to Upper School have the option of submitting the ISAAGNY Common Upper School Applicant essay, but it is not mandatory. Applicants will be able to download the ISAAGNY essay form once they submit their applications in Ravenna.

Please note: Applicant family is responsible for confirming application is complete. The Admissions Office will not review incomplete applications.
