September 19, 2024
The International Baccalaureate program is a rigorous, pre-university course of studies that meets the needs of highly motivated secondary school students. Well known by educators and families, the IB is also recognized by universities around the world as a program providing a solid foundation that leads to success in higher education and in careers after graduation.
Dwight Global Online School was selected as one of the first online schools to offer the IB program online. Nationally ranked and respected, Dwight Global offers an expansive range of subjects, along with a wide selection of extracurricular activities designed to expand students’ horizons and enrich their educational experience.
Benefits of the IB Program
The International Baccalaureate program is appealing to admissions representatives and faculty at elite universities around the globe. Considered the “gold standard” in secondary education, the IB program prepares students to engage in complex issues from a variety of perspectives.
Dwight Global students who earn their IB diploma go on to study at top colleges and universities around the world, including Harvard, Cornell, University College London, University of California Berkeley, and University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Graduates of the IB program are also exposed to a broad range of perspectives from a global perspective, from both faculty and fellow students.
“It is a blessing to teach my mother tongue to Dwight Global students,” said Dwight Global IB French teacher Caroline Lavoie, who is originally from Quebec, Canada.
“I love being able to talk about my French-Canadian culture and to make the students discover a bit more of the world. When I am teaching French from my house in England to students who are in the US, in Canada, in Europe or in South America, the world seems more connected. I can feel the international mindedness and the fact that we are all citizens of the world.”

Dwight Global students excel in their online high school program, and after graduation. From their one-on-one support with an experienced and highly trained faculty, to a rich supplement of extracurricular activities, students experience a customized learning program that sets them up for success, both locally and around the world.
