Dwight Global Online Tennis Standouts Dominick Mosejczuk, Cooper Williams, and Michael Zheng to Compete at the US Open Tennis Championships

by Caroline Crosson Gilpin and Mark Clemente

The US Open Tennis Championship, which attracts the most elite tennis players from around the world, is the fourth and last Grand Slam of the year, after the Australian Open, the French Open, and Wimbledon. This final championship is especially meaningful for the American players because it is an opportunity to perform in front of the “home crowd” with friends and family.

Dwight Global Online School is excited to be represented in the 2025 US Open by three Dwight Global graduates.

Dominick Mosejczuk DG ‘25, will compete in the Boys’ Junior main draw, capping his junior career before starting his freshman year at Wake Forest University, which won the NCAA Team championships in May.

Cooper Williams DG ‘23, Duke ‘27, won the NCAA Playoff Wild Card for the Men’s Doubles main draw with his partner Theo Winegar.

Michael Zheng DG ‘22, Columbia ‘26, Columbia University standout and #1 NCAA player, will compete in the Men’s qualifying event.

Off the back of another Ivy League Championship and winning the NCAA Singles Championship, Zheng, a three-time All-American, has been competing on the ATP Challenger circuit with a recent win over former top-20 player Daniel Evans from Great Britain at the Lexington, KY Challenger.

Zheng has seen his ATP singles ranking rise from #723 on May 28, the day he played his first round match in the Little Rock Open Challenger in Little Rock, AK,—the first of seven Challengers he has played in the last 11 weeks—to his current live ATP singles ranking of #321, a career high. As he prepares for the US Open and his senior year at Columbia, it looks like Zheng will be in great form.

Williams, who was Rookie of the Year at Harvard University before transferring to Duke, is looking to make his US Open Men’s Doubles debut partnering with Winegar. The All-American duo won the US Open Wild Card Playoff  in May.

Mosejczuk has had a stellar junior career with a career high of #22 on the ITF Junior World Circuit. With the US Open as his final event of his junior career, he is looking forward to being in a position to call himself a junior Grand Slam Champion.

The US Open is held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Corona Park, Queens. The schedule dates are as follows:

  • Qualifying matches run from August 18-21 and are free for spectators.
  • The US Open Men's and Women's runs from August 24 until September 7.
  • The US Open Juniors Boys and Girls runs from September 1-7.
