Dwight Global is the online program of Dwight School, which is proudly authorized by the International Baccalaureate program, an academically rigorous program for students in preschool through grade 12. In order to teach IB programs, schools must be authorized, and every authorized school is known as an IB World School. Dwight Global offers IB Diploma Program classes for students in Grades 11 and 12.
What is the International Baccalaureate?
The IB program offers an education comprising of four programs that focus on teaching students to think critically and independently, and how to make inquiries about their studies using care and logic as a basis. The IB prepares students for success by exploring how to ask the right questions throughout their studies -- a skill that will position them well long after graduation. In 5,000 schools throughout 150 countries across the world, IB teachers and coordinators develop and promote IB curriculum.
The IB focuses on personal student development, and it’s widely known that an IB program can enrich a student’s high school experience and prepare them for college in myriad ways. IB takes a global approach, looking at big ideas across disciplines, enabling students to dig deep into their coursework.
Why does Dwight Global Online School offer the IB Program?
The IB teaches students and creatively; to approach their studies with a global, ethical perspective; to become lifelong learners. As a result, we believe the IB program dovetails beautifully with Dwight Global’s mission to ignite the spark of learning in every child.
