Innovation: Students may participate in our Spark Tank incubator program, to take their novel ideas with real-world application into the marketplace. 

Community: Dwight Global is based on relationships. Our structure and use of technology support these crucial relationships at every turn. Each student is a member of a grade level advisory group, which meets regularly with a faculty mentor to discuss a wide variety of topics.

Curriculum: Dwight Global offers a full complement of standard and honors classes, as well as a robust Advanced Placement program. Students in Grade 10 can elect to join the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program for Grades 11 and 12.

Global Vision: Upper School students have the opportunity to travel abroad to many of our Dwight School campuses and interact with their peers across the globe.

Languages: Students may study Spanish, French, or Mandarin. Additional language offerings and Mother Tongue language classes are available upon request.

Our upper school provides students with a solid foundation for future study. We use a blended, flipped, synchronous seminar approach with a college-style class schedule.

Synchronous classes are held in real time via virtual, video-based classrooms. Asynchronous course components include recorded lectures and seminars and other pre-existing materials available on demand.

The model is flipped because we expect students to watch assigned lectures before they come to class, allowing seminar time to be used for active discussion.

Upper school courses meet two times per week, rather than every day, modeled after college-style schedules. All seminars are recorded for later viewing. 

Students also have a full suite of complementary off-line work, including readings, writing papers, solving problem sets, and completing labs and projects. Any student requiring additional support can participate in Oxford-style tutorials with their instructors. 

Classes are taught in an atmosphere of collegial engagement and designed to be relevant and timely, drawing on real-life examples with a global perspective.

They are led by highly talented instructors with expertise in both teaching online and engaging with upper school students.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an academically rigorous program for students in preschool through grade 12. 

The IB teaches students to think critically, creatively, ethically, and globally; and to become lifelong learners. 

Recognized worldwide as one of the most challenging academic programs — the “gold standard” in pre-university preparation — the IB provides the ideal academic framework for educating internationally minded problem-solvers — culturally agile and multilingual — positioning them for success in today’s global marketplace. No other curriculum fits better with Dwight’s vision of educating the next generation of global leaders.  

Dwight Global students may take International Baccalaureate Diploma classes starting in Grade 11.

Established in 1955, CollegeBoard develops and maintains guidelines for the teaching of higher-level courses in various subject areas. High-level courses following guidelines developed and maintained by the College Board are designated as Advanced Placement (AP). 

Students in these courses may take AP exams to document their level of preparation for future study in college. 

Unlike the IB, which has a specific philosophical and pedagogical underpinning, AP allows a multitude of approaches and uses in schools. The goal of AP is to provide a benchmark readily understood by universities. Dwight Global offers students a full complement of standard AP courses.

Students may choose from more than 100 standard and honors college-preparatory classes. Students work with their Deans and College Counselors to personalize their course of study, meet grade-level requirements, and prepare themselves for the college application process.

Dwight School campuses and partner schools may enroll students in Dwight Global's online courses. By allowing students to take classes online, participating schools can expand their course offerings, solve scheduling problems, serve students needing more flexibility in their day, and more. Dwight Global offers over 150 courses for grades 6-12, including middle school and high school-level Standard and Honors classes and, for upper-grade students, Advanced Placement courses and International Baccalaureate classes.
