Dwight traditions

As Dwight Global continues its journey as the leading online independent school for the next 150 years, we draw upon traditions from the Dwight family of schools while also inventing our own. Dwight Global students cherish participating in these traditions and have opportunities to establish new ones.

Our School Song

Nine Dwight School New York students teamed up with performer Keith “Wildchild” Middleton of STOMP fame, and two-time Grammy-Award-winning record producer and two-time ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Mikkel Eriksen, to write and record the Dwight song, which now unites Dwight students around the world.

Camerer Essay

One of Dwight’s proud traditions is the Camerer Essay Competition, held annually in memory of Dr. Emil E. Camerer, a prominent educator who served as Dwight’s Headmaster from 1895-1926.The competition process begins when students in grades 9-11 submit essays to their English teachers, who then select the best in each grade for review by all English Department faculty. The winning entries are then entered into the global competition, adding to a myriad of enriching Dwight cross-campus programs and collaborations.

Alumni Reunion

Each year, we welcome back graduates of Dwight to share memories, meet old friends, and make new ones. We honor those celebrating landmark years and toast all alumni who gather for this special occasion.
