Traditions

As Dwight Global begins its journey as the leading independent school for the next 150 years, we draw upon traditions from the Dwight family of schools while also inventing our own.

Our Song

Nine Dwight School New York students teamed up with performer Keith “Wildchild” Middleton of STOMP fame, and two-time Grammy-Award-winning record producer and two-time ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Mikkel Eriksen, to write and record the Dwight song, which now unites Dwight students around the world.

Carnegie Hall Concert

Carnegie Hall, one of the world’s most illustrious musical venues, has been the setting for our annual concert for years. Dwight Global students look forward to this special opportunity, which now includes practicing and performing with their Dwight peers from around the world.

Camerer Essay Competition

One of Dwight’s proud traditions is the Camerer Essay Competition, held annually in memory of Dr. Emil E. Camerer, a prominent educator who served as Dwight’s Headmaster from 1895-1926.The competition process begins when students in grades 9-11 submit essays to their English teachers, who then select the best in each grade for review by all English Department faculty. The winning entries are then entered into the global competition, adding to a myriad of enriching Dwight cross-campus programs and collaborations.

Graduation in New York City

Dwight School's New York Campus is the site of our graduation, where we gather to honor our seniors. Prior to graduation, we capture their pride and smiles, as they don shirts with the name of the schools they will be attending in a class photo.

Alumni Reunion

Each year, we welcome back graduates of Dwight to share memories, meet old friends, and make new ones. We honor those celebrating landmark years and toast all alumni who gather for this special occasion.
