B had a great time today with Ms. Ozak! They participated in a hula hoop competition as part of the "Physical Activity" theme. Some of the class hula hooped around their waists, while others chose to hula hoop around their arms.
The 4B class invited Ms. Enriquez's ninth grade English class to visit their classroom to see how they "read in action." The students broke up into groups and the fourth grade students retold the novels they read in class with enthusiasm, shared reading strategies, and had the ninth grade students carry out some hands-on activities to deepen their reading. The fourth graders hope that their love of reading impacted the high school English class for the better! By the end of their visit, the ninth graders learned a lot from our fourth graders!
On a brisk fall day in the Big Apple, Yara Shahidi took time away from the sunny California set of the ABC comedy series, "Black-ish," to visit Dwight. Ms. Shahidi, who plays a high school junior on the hit TV show is a high school junior taking AP and honors courses through Dwight's Open World School program.
The Amnesty International Club here at Dwight has launched its first action. The club members recently asked the students and faculty to sign a petition against the eviction of Roma people in Belgrade, Serbia.

Geoff Warren-Boulton, the CEO of Appt.ly recently was a guest speaker for the Advanced Digital Media class. The class is using the full suite of Appt.ly's Facial Morphing apps to create storyboards for a graphic novel based on Ovid's Metamorphoses.
Attending the American School of Ballet, in addition to performing professionally, leaves little time for me to attend regular school, so Dwight's online program is perfect for me. My schedule is pretty demanding, especially around the holidays, and my teachers make time to help me catch up...
On November 19, Bentley House students were able to demonstrate to their parents and peers everything they've been working on in their Visual and Performing Arts classes in the first trimester.
