We have limited spots available based on your child's age. There is no fee to join the waitlist. Families will be contacted as spaces become available.

Yes. A non-refundable registration fee of $250 is due upon enrollment to reserve your child's space. This fee covers administrative and enrollment costs and is not applied toward tuition.

When a space becomes available, families on the waitlist will be contacted by email and/or phone. To accept and reserve the space, families must submit all required enrollment forms and fees, including an enrollment deposit equal to one month’s tuition, within three business days of receiving the offer. If we do not receive a response by the deadline, the space will be offered to the next family on the waitlist.

The enrollment deposit will be applied to the child’s final tuition payment, provided the family gives at least 30 days’ written notice of withdrawal. If the required notice is not provided, the deposit will be forfeited.

Tuition is billed monthly.
 

Our doors open to welcome children at 8 am during the school year and at 8:30 am during the summer. Pick up is by 5:30 pm.
 

As a part of the Dwight School in New York, our educational philosophy is to ignite the spark of genius in every child as we develop inquisitive, knowledgeable, self-aware, and ethical citizens who will build a better world. This mission extends to our littlest learners, and we welcome the opportunity to foster a love of learning in their first months. We understand that infants and toddlers thrive when they feel safe, comfortable, and securely connected to their caregivers. We create an environment where our youngest students have the freedom to learn, explore, and begin their journey toward becoming the curious, confident learners they're meant to be.
 

Each infant schedule is tailored to their needs. Parents of infants have a virtual meeting with teachers before their first day, so that we can learn their schedule and be prepared to accommodate their needs for feeding and naps. We also accommodate infants starting solids, based upon your direction and only with foods that the infant has already tried at home.

Toddlers will have scheduled snacks and lunch.
 

For toddler snack times, nutritious snacks are provided, and you are welcome to send in your own snacks if you prefer.
 

 Infants will follow the nap schedule that works best for them!

Toddlers typically nap for two hours in the afternoon, from roughly 1-3 pm. However, we will work with you to accommodate your toddler’s naptime needs.
 

Yes! We're thrilled to help our infants and toddlers along with all of their exciting developments, at their own pace. Our personalized approach allows us to meet each child at their developmental stage and provide support tailored to their needs.
 

We provide outdoor time twice daily, weather permitting. During colder months, children still enjoy fresh air at least once a day, as long as the temperature is above freezing.
 

Yes, we use Brightwheel to stay in touch with you throughout the day with updates and pictures.
 

Yes! Small Wonder is part of the Dwight School community, which has provided exceptional education in New York City since 1872. While we're a newer program, we're backed by Dwight's long history of educational excellence and commitment to nurturing each child's potential.
