Upper School

Welcome to Dwight Upper School!

It is amazing to see how much an adolescent can change from grades 9-12. In just four years, our students exhibit tremendous academic growth and an increased sense of responsibility ― two essential qualities we want for them as they leave Dwight for life beyond. To aid them in this development, we offer the academically rigorous International Baccalaureate curriculum, support from an exceptional faculty, and access to opportunities unique to Dwight, such as visiting our global campuses and participating in our many cross-campus events.

As our students complete the IB Middle Years Program at the end of grade 10, they each design, produce, and present a Personal Project of their choosing. This self-guided undertaking values both research and reflection, and establishes the necessary skills to find success in the IB Diploma Program in grades 11 and 12, where they will tackle higher-level coursework and engage in meta-cognitive conversations via their Theory of Knowledge class. Our curriculum also emphasizes collaboration on projects combining Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) ― an underpinning of the International Baccalaureate curriculum.

With a superb academic foundation, the guidance of expert college counselors beginning in grade 9, a wide variety of after-school opportunities, and a global perspective, Dwight students have a decided advantage in the college admissions process. It is a pleasure to assist them on their journey.
