Applying to Upper School

We will host several Open Houses throughout the fall. Students, along with their families, are invited to attend.

Registration is required and can be completed through Ravenna.

After submitting an application, please schedule your child’s student interview via Ravenna. These appointments last approximately 30-45 minutes and are conducted by an admissions director. Your child may choose to meet with us via Zoom or on campus. Please note, whether an applicant decides to interview in person or via Zoom will have no impact on the ultimate admission decision.

The student interview is a required part of the application process. It gives us the chance to get to know your child and learn about their unique qualities and interests, and gives your child the chance to ask about Dwight's curriculum and programs.

An on-campus interview does not include a tour. Tours are available separately at admissions events, which you can register for via Ravenna. Tour and interview appointments are limited, so we recommend registering as soon as you've submitted your application.

Dwight requires either the ISEE or SSAT. While testing is required at Dwight, we consider this to be just one of the many ways we get to know our applicants. 

• For the ISEE test, your child’s testing is administered by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) and should be arranged by contacting the ERB office through their website or by calling 800.446.0320 and listing our School as a recipient. Our school code is 333605. 
• For the SSAT, your child’s testing is administered by the Secondary School Admissions Bureau (SSATB) and should be arranged by visiting the SSAT site or by calling 609.683.5558 and listing our School as a recipient. Our school code is 2930. Please submit testing by November 20, 2026 for Early Decision and January 8, 2027 for Regular Decision.
• For International applicants, we require either the ISEE or SSAT which can be done online or at a Prometric Center. If applicants can not take the test online or at a Prometric Center, they should contact the admissions department to discuss an alternative.

The transcript release form and teacher recommendation forms — available in  Ravenna — should be submitted to the applicant's present school. The teacher recommendation forms must come from both the student's math and English teachers.

If the transcript and teacher recommendation forms are not completed in English, an official translation must also be sent.

We will also accept the Independent School Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY) recommendation and student interest and activities forms instead of, or in addition to, our school-provided forms.

Forms Submission Deadlines

• Early Decision: Friday, November 20
• Regular Decision: Friday, January 8
