Toddler and Me
Age 3: Saturdays, 10-10:30 am
This group class is perfect for a child’s first exposure to the water. All preschoolers must be accompanied by an adult. Games, songs, and water play give children a positive water experience. All aquatic skills will be taught through structured participation in group activities.
Beginner Level 1
Ages 4-6: Saturdays, 10:30-11 am / Ages 7-15: Saturdays, 12-12:45 pm
As swimmers develop their aquatic independence and basic swim skill sets, class participants will work on: blowing bubbles, comfort with full head/body submersions, arm and leg coordinated movements for swimming on their front and back, proper streamline body positioning with flutter kicking on both front and back, and body glides into full rotation from front to back.
Beginner Level 2
Ages 4-6: Saturdays 10:30-11 am / Ages 7-15: Saturdays, 12-12:45 pm
This class is for beginner learners who are able to float independently, and are comfortable with both submerging and streamline kicks on both their front and back for ten yards.
Through challenging drills and structured swim games, students will build upon skills learned in Beginner Level 1 focusing on endurance, stroke technique, and greater distance swimming. Swimmers will develop a firm understanding of how to best coordinate arm and leg movements and the ability to swim for longer distances independently.
Intermediate
Ages 4-6: Saturdays,11-11:45 am / Ages 7-15: Saturdays, 12-12:45 pm
The Intermediate level class will have swimmers continue to master all developmental areas of swimming including: comfort with aquatic dynamics, body coordination, stroke technique, stamina, and momentum.
Swimmers will continue their learning through advanced swim drills, and organized group activities. Course participants will hone in on more specific stroke technique for both freestyle and backstroke, rhythmic breathing, sidestroke, breaststroke, and begin to learn the foundations of butterfly. Other essential skills will include learning swimming etiquette, circle swimming, and basic understanding of pace clocks.
Advanced/Pre-competitive
Saturdays, 12:50-1:35 pm
This class is structured for the already proficient swimmer who is able to swim two constant lengths of the pool. We will focus further on refined stroke technique, concentrating on adequate butterfly pull and two-beat kick. Swimmers will improve their endurance swimming through timed swim sets, momentum intensive swimming, while working on racing starts, dives, and all flip turns used for competition.
Adult Aquatics
Saturdays, 11-11:45 am
Structured for adult swimmers with little to no experience in the water, this course will focus on water acclimation, training each participant basic swim skills to build confidence and comfort in the water.
Adult Masters Swim
Saturdays, 1:45-2:30 pm
Masters Swim is dedicated to helping adult swimmers who are not experiencing fear-related aquatic challenges to improve their swimming. This course is conducted through structured workouts focusing on improving technique, fitness, and building endurance.
