"Guided Discovery" — Personalized Learning Approach at DSAC

Since last fall, Alicia Blandon, Swimming Instructor at Dwight School Athletic Center, has been working with three-year-old Lili weekly to improve her swimming. As Lili's condition renders her unable to walk, the personalized approach that Ms. Blandon has taken with Lili has done wonders to strengthen her muscles. Through this carefully developed swimming program, Lili — with a perpetual smile on her face — is now able to walk on her own!

Another example of the great work that happens at our Athletic Center is Julius Trippen '15. Under the mentorship of Sunny Anderson, Director of Aquatics, Julius will be working as a lifeguard at the DSAC this summer during our Dwight Summer Day Camp! After showing great leadership, commitment, and maturity as the Varsity Swimming Team's Captain, Ms. Anderson has nurtured Julius's passion for swimming as well as the responsibility as a DSAC lifeguard. We are so proud of the incredible work our Athletic Center Instructors do every day with guided discovery and personalized learning!

Make sure you take advantage of the wonderful opportunities our Center has to offer!
