Founded in 1872 as a feeder school for the nation's best colleges, Dwight is named for Timothy Dwight V, twelfth President of Yale University.

In 2015, our Varsity Boys Tennis team captured its fourth straight regular season championship and tournament trophy
In 2015, our Varsity Baseball team were the ACIS B Division regular season champions
In 2014 & 15, our Varsity Boys Basketball team won “Back to Back” NYSAIS Division B State Championships
In 2014, our Varsity Girls Basketball team were ACIS Tournament Finalists
In 2013, our Varsity Boys Soccer team won their conference championship
In 2012, our Varsity Girls Volleyball team won the regular season league and tournament title
In 2012, a Dwight fencer was named to the 2012 Olympic Team and competed in the London Games
In 2011, Dwight won the first PSAA cross country championship in the history of the School and placed seventh in the state
In 2011 our Grades 7/8 Boys Soccer Team had an undefeated season, winning their conference title
In 2010, two Dwight fencers represented the United States at the World Championships in Azerbaijan; one of those fencers took the bronze medal in men’s foil
In 2017, Dwight's Girls Varsity Soccer team won the ISAL Playoff Championship game after finishing second in the regular season; the team made their first appearance in the NYSAIS State Tournament
In 2017, Dwight's Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball team won the ISAL Playoff Championship game after finishing fourth in the regular season.
