Weekend Group Lessons
Toddler and Me
Age 3: Saturdays
This group class is perfect for a child’s first exposure to the water and for children who need their parents in order to feel secure. All preschoolers must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Games, songs, and water play give the child a positive water experience. All aquatic skills will be taught through structured participation in group activities.
Beginner Level 1
Ages 4-6 and 7-15: Saturdays
As swimmers develop their aquatic independence and basic swim skill sets, class participants will work on: blowing bubbles, comfort with full head/body submersions, arm and leg coordinated movements for swimming on their front and back, proper streamline body positioning with flutter kicking on both front and back, as well as body glides into full rotation from front to back.
Beginner Level 2
Ages 4-6 and 7-15: Saturdays
This class is for beginning learners that are able to float independently, and are comfortable with both submerging and streamline kicks on both their front and back for ten yards.
Through challenging drills and structured swim games, students will build upon skills learned in Beginner Level 1 focusing on endurance, stroke technique, and greater distance swimming. Swimmers will develop a firm understanding of how to best coordinate arm and leg movements, and ability to swim for longer distances independently.
Intermediate
Ages 4-6 and 7-15: Saturdays
The Intermediate level class will have swimmers continue to master all developmental areas of swimming including: comfort with aquatic dynamics, body coordination, stroke technique, stamina, and momentum.
Swimmers will continue their learning through advanced swim drills, and organized group activities. Course participants will hone in on more specific stroke technique for both freestyle and backstroke, rhythmic breathing, sidestroke, breaststroke, and start learning foundations of butterfly. Other essential skills will include learning about swimming etiquette, circle swimming, and basic understanding of utilizing pace clocks.
Advanced/Pre-competitive
Saturdays
This class is structured for the already proficient swimmer who is able to swim two lengths of the pool without stopping. We will focus further on refined stroke technique, concentrating on adequate butterfly pull and two beat kick. Swimmers will make greater gains on their endurance swimming through utilizing timed swim sets, momentum intensive swimming, while working on racing starts, dives, and all flip turns used for competition.
Adult Aquatics
Saturdays
Structured for adult swimmers with little to no experience in the water, this course will focus on water acclimation, training each participant basic swim skills to build confidence and comfort in the water.
Adult Masters Swim
Saturdays
Masters Swim is dedicated to helping adult swimmers who are not experiencing fear-related aquatic challenges to improve their swimming. This course is conducted through structured workouts focusing on furthering technique, fitness, and building endurance.
